Mayurbhanj Hospital Lacks Plastic Surgery Department, Patients Travel 300 km to Cuttack

Mayurbhanj district in Odisha currently does not have a plastic surgery department. Neither the district headquarters hospital nor Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College offers this facility.

As a result, patients in need of plastic or reconstructive surgery are forced to travel nearly 300 kilometers to Cuttack’s BMC (Biju Medical College & Hospital). This gap highlights the urgent need to expand specialized medical services in rural Odisha to reduce patient hardship and travel burdens.
