Laser Treatment of Varicose Veins on the Legs

Varicose veins present as large, unsightly blue/green veins on the legs. There are many modalities to treat these veins, including injections (sclerotherapy) and surgical removal (vein stripping). However, an often underused but highly effective treatment for these veins is the use of the long-pulsed Nd:YAG laser (GentleYag Pro). The veins in this picture are from a 30-year-old female who did not want sclerotherapy. The vein was gone after one session of the long-pulsed Nd:YAG laser.
