Top plastic surgeon at NI hospital warns of devastating impact fireworks can have

As Halloween approaches, a top plastic surgeon has warned people in Northern Ireland to be aware of the dangers of misusing fireworks.

Alastair Brown, a senior Consultant based at the Ulster Hospital, is all too familiar with the aftermath of a life changing split-second decision that can have inescapable long-term effects.

He has treated many of the most serious injuries caused by fireworks down the years, involving children as young as ten years old.
